Philippine Coast Guard AuxiliaryThe Philippine Coast Guard Auxiliary (PCGA) is a service oriented, uniformed, voluntary organization. It is non-government, non-political whose membership adhere to Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) customs and traditions. Its organizational structure is parallel to PCG and has its own chain of leadership and management. Republic Act 9993, otherwise known as the "Coast Guard Law" legitimized the PCGA as an auxiliary arm of the PCG.
Mission: The Philippine Coast Guard Auxiliary (PCGA) shall assist the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) in the promotion of safety of life and property at sea, in the preservation of the marine environment and its resources, the conduct of maritime search and rescue, the maintenance of aids to navigation, and such other activities that enhance maritime community relations which include civic action, participation under the National Service Training Program (NSTP), youth development, recreational safety and other related activities. Vision: A reliable and adequately funded Auxiliary Organization of the PCG efficiently promoting safety of life and property at sea, preserving the marine environment and its resources, conducting maritime search and rescue operations, and developing coastal community participation in MARSAF, MARSAR and MAREP activities through committed and competent volunteers, sufficient equipment, effective training programs and relevant projects. Functions: The PCGA shall continue to exist as a civilian volunteer organization under the Philippine Coast Guard and shall have the following mandated functions:

A PCGA member accepts by choice his duties and responsibilities. He/she voluntarily submits himself to the organization; continues and simultaneously performs his other functions in his own professional career, employment or business. He is not compensated for his services. He donates, without charge or favor, his time, treasure and talent because he believes in the cause. |
