The PCGA 125th Auxiliary Squadron, led by Director Auxiliary Squadron CAPT JUNMAR A ROA PCGA, in partnership with the Philippine Dental Association-Cavite Chapter headed by Dr. Carie Dominguez, hosted its second Fun Shoot for a Cause last 29 June 2013 at the PHCV Firing Range, General Trias, Cavite.
The project was held in support to its beneficiary college scholars at the Imus Institute and also for disaster relief funds in anticipation of the upcoming typhoon season.
The event was graced by RADM VALENTIN B PRIETO JR PCGA, Director Auxiliary District of CGADNCR-CL, as the Guest of Honor; LCDR FIDELES D SALLIDAO PCG, Commander of Coast Guard Station (CGS) Cavite; CAPT IRINEO BILLONES PCGA, 112th Director Auxiliary Squadron; and LCDR RONALD BAJA PCGA, of the 126th Auxiliary Squadron.
The briefing on gun safety handling started at 0800H and the ceremonial shoot was at 0900H as led by RADM PRIETO PCGA, CAPT ROA PCGA and Dr. Dominguez. In his inspirational speech, RADM PRIETO PCGA commended the efforts of the organizing groups and donated Php 10,000 for the Squadron relief funds.
A total of 81 tickets were sold and 63 participants have joined in the non-competitive shoot fest, majority of whom were beginners and were taught by SPO2 Ronald Dela Peña on the proper, safe and basic skills of gun handling and target shooting.
Participants came from various groups and organizations such as the 112th Auxiliary Squadron, 126th Squadron, Fox Tactical Gears Philippine Dental Association-Cavite Chapter and local police.
The activity’s net proceeds amounted to 31,220, half of which will be donated to the Squadron’s beneficiary at Imus Institute.
